Galileo is a fast-growing renewable energy developer, investor and operator , currently in the very dynamic start-up phase. Since our foundation in 2020, we have secured a pipeline of over 16 GW of solar PV, onshore wind , offshore wind and storage projects across 10 markets in Europe.
We are looking for a M&A Analyst to assist in evaluating and executing new development and investment opportunities across different renewable energy technologies (solar PV, wind onshore and offshore, as well as BESS). This person will be based in Milan (with the possibility of hybrid remote working) and report to the Chief Investment Officer.
What you’ll do:
- Contribute to the successful execution of sell-side, buy-side and partnership transactions by working on the whole spectrum from inception to closing;
- Work closely with other departments to gain understanding of Galileo's business model and support them with insights from the Strategic Planning and M&A functions;
- Support the management of European development partnerships and related activities (project onboarding, business plan preparation, etc.);
- Analyse and support strategic entry into new geographical markets and development of new business models (solar I&C, BESS, floating offshore).
Requirements
What you’ll need:
- Excellent academic background with a degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or Management Engineering (STEM degrees are also suitable if complemented with economics or finance background);
- Previous experience in consulting, private equity, infrastructure funds, investment banking/M&A, or corporate M&A, preferably in the energy/renewables sector;
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, and quantitative skills, depending on seniority;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English; additional European languages are a plus;
- Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities;
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and resilience in facing challenges;
- Interest in Galileo's developments and renewable energy projects;
