We lead the SABA (Sardinian Aging Biomarkers Analysis) project—a landmark study into the markers of healthy aging in Sardinia's renowned "Blue Zone." ? The Project
The SABA project combines wearable technology, AI, and precision medicine to understand longevity factors in Sardinia's "Blue Zone" population. You'll contribute to a sophisticated production platform that:
- Processes and visualizes biometric and behavioral data
- Supports clinical trial workflows and health assessments
- Hosts LLM-powered AI tools for aging analysis and personalized insights
You'll work as part of a senior, multidisciplinary team that is reshaping how we understand—and extend—human healthspan.
?Location
?️ What You’ll Work On
As an ML Engineer / Data Scientist at Nuraxi, you’ll be a core contributor to the development of our AI systems. Your work will power the digital twin models that drive personalized insights for thousands of users across clinics and health platforms.
You will:
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end machine learning pipelines
- Translate biometric, wearable, and behavioral data into actionable healthspan predictions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and research to prototype and deploy new models
- Help establish best practices for monitoring, versioning, and validating ML systems
- Contribute to our long-term AI/ML roadmap, especially around explainability and personalization
? What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related STEM field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in applied machine learning and data engineering
- Strong Python skills, with clean code and OOP foundations
- Production experience deploying models in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or similar)
- Experience with ML platforms (e.g., MLflow, Vertex AI, SageMaker, TFX)
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster
- Comfortable owning the full lifecycle of a model, from prototyping to monitoring
Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills
- PhD or postdoctoral research in a quantitative or biomedical field
- Experience working with biometric, time-series, or wearable health data
- Exposure to edge deployment or embedded AI systems
- Knowledge of model monitoring (drift detection, explainability, etc.)
- Background in medtech, biotech, or regulated environments
- Italian language skills (optional but welcome)
