Job Purpose / Role

Reporting to the Property Team Leader, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Property & Liability risks into the Italian market. You will be the contact person for selected agents working with the Mid-Corporate team, supporting them in the business development. You will also support the local strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Mid Corporate targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines.
  • Steer and control the portfolio at local level to drive the achievement of financial targets.
  • Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end-to-end underwriting life cycle.
  • Work closely with Sales departments, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling.
  • Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework.
  • Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products.
  • Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations).
  • Communicate local business strategy externally.

Key Requirements / Skills / Experience

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Economics or Law.
  • At least 5 years' proven experience in underwriting profitable Property, including both PD/BI and Theft and Liability business for Corporate Clients.
  • Preference if also experienced in Multinational clients.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle.
  • Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills.
  • Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings.
  • Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to work in an international organization.
  • Fluent in Italian and English (both written and spoken).
  • Very good knowledge in Office 365 and other collaborative tools.
  • Data reporting experience.
