About the function

Over the past 6 years, Diageo has developed the Marketing Catalyst, a groundbreaking Marketing Effectiveness capability recognized by the IPA in Europe and ANA in North America in 2018. This suite of tools enables marketers to measure and optimize marketing budgets effectively.

The Marketing Effectiveness team leads this agenda, managing outputs, analysis, and tools, and partnering with markets and brand teams to apply insights for higher marketing performance daily.

About the role

This role will be the leading specialist within Diageo for driving marketing effectiveness in the region or brand managed. Responsibilities include establishing an Effectiveness agenda, collaborating with global brand teams and markets, and delivering performance goals for Italy. The role involves developing measurement frameworks, working with brand, finance, and customer marketing teams, and exploring new methodologies for brand health and ROI analysis.

Business Complexity:

This is a complex role requiring advanced problem-solving and influencing skills, working across stakeholders to implement solutions and manage cultural change.

Leadership Responsibilities:

The success of this role depends on driving action within the marketing community to optimize marketing spend.

Purpose of Role:

To foster a culture of Marketing Performance, Measurement & Evaluation at Diageo, enhancing the impact of advertising and promotion investments.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Drive marketing performance targets using Diageo’s effectiveness platform
  • Promote behavioral change towards marketing effectiveness principles
  • Integrate measurement frameworks into business and planning cycles
  • Develop unified measurement approaches for marketing solutions
  • Build relationships with GBTs and optimize through brand teams and hubs
  • Synthesize insights and communicate findings effectively
  • Manage and enhance the marketing analytics program
  • Seek continuous improvements to unlock further value

About you

  • 6+ years in consumer marketing, effectiveness consultancies, econometric modeling, or management consulting
  • Experience in driving business change and working with senior leaders
  • Outstanding influencing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confident in leading sessions for senior audiences
  • Self-starter, adaptable to change
  • Energetic, collaborative, relationship-builder
