Overview
Job Overview : We are looking for a Mechanical Design & Construction Manager to join our team within a design & build framework. By way of example, and not limited to, the following activities will fall within their scope of responsibility:
- Lead the coordination of mechanical design and development services for Design & Build projects, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Support discipline leadership in representing the Company on mechanical matters during weekly coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the internal mechanical team, in collaboration with HR (recruitment, structuring, and capability development).
- Supervise, mentor, and develop project personnel, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation activities.
- Assist in the evaluation, testing, and procurement of tools and technologies required for the effective execution of mechanical engineering activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the mechanical engineering team, including value engineering activities, and oversee the review and analysis of technical and construction tender documentation and cost estimates.
- Prepare design and construction budgets for private clients and tender submissions.
- Coordinate with external consultants (engineering firms and independent professionals) and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Contribute across all project phases, from concept design and preliminary cost estimation to client and authority presentations.
- Drive both technical and commercial development of assigned projects.
- Collaborate with other RIMOND entities, local partners, and subcontractors to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Define market pricing strategies and project budgets in coordination with technical and operational management.
- Ensure successful project delivery, maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, timelines, and financial performance.
Construction Responsibilities
- Support for the evaluation and selection of MEP subcontractors and analysis of offers together with technical and general management.
- Collaboration in the management and monitoring of site activities, operational direction of mechanical systems, and final testing.
- Assistance with personnel present on-site (Site Manager, Works Director, and Technical Director).
- Assistance in drafting technical-economic documents (Progress Reports/SAL, variations).
- Assistance with final testing and supervision of the delivery to the client.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
- Extensive experience in MEP design and construction management (ideally 10+ years), with a proven track record in Design & Build projects.
- Expert knowledge of mechanical systems, budgeting, and technical-economic analysis. Familiarity with BIM processes for production management is preferred.
- Fluency in Italian and English is mandatory.
