Engineering to Manufacturing Manager – Tognana, Italy
The Engineering to Manufacturing (E2M) Manager is responsible for ensuring the seamless transition of products from engineering development into manufacturing. This role acts as a bridge between design engineering and production, ensuring that product designs are optimized for manufacturability, supply chain robustness, and efficient material flow.
Manufacturing Readiness & Product Industrialization
- Drive the transition of new products from engineering development into manufacturing.
- Develop and implement tools and processes to support efficient product ramp‑up and production readiness.
- Ensure product designs are aligned with manufacturing capabilities and operational requirements.
- Define and manage sub‑assembly strategies to reduce overall assembly takt time and improve production throughput.
Dual Sourcing Strategy
- Identify, evaluate, and validate dual sourcing opportunities for critical components.
- Work with supply chain and engineering teams to reduce supply risk and increase sourcing flexibility.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Ownership – Bulk Components
- Own and manage BOM elements related to bulk components.
- Optimize BOM structure to improve material flow efficiency and manufacturing operations.
- Ensure alignment between engineering BOM and manufacturing requirements.
Product Transfer & Regional Manufacturing Support
- Support product transfers to manufacturing sites in other regions.
- Collaborate with regional teams to ensure smooth knowledge transfer and process alignment.
Sub‑Assembly & Outsourcing Strategy
- Evaluate opportunities for sub‑assembly externalization through qualified partners or contract manufacturers.
- Assess potential cooperation with external suppliers to improve scalability, cost efficiency, and manufacturing capacity.
- Work with supply chain, manufacturing engineering and procurement to define outsourcing strategies for selected assemblies.
Cross‑Functional Engineering Alignment
- Work closely with senior MCAD and senior ECAD engineers to align on technical solutions that can be effectively implemented across multiple products.
- Ensure design decisions support scalability, manufacturability, and industrialization across product families.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in product development, manufacturing engineering, or product industrialization.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams including engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience with BOM management and product lifecycle processes.
- Familiarity with NPI (New Product Introduction) and product ramp‑up processes.
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Experience with product industrialization and manufacturing ramp‑up.
- Knowledge of assembly line optimization and takt time reduction.
- Experience evaluating outsourcing or contract manufacturing opportunities.
- Strong problem‑solving, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
