Experteer Overview

In this Mechanical Engineer role, you will contribute to the design and coordination of HVAC and cooling systems for data centers and mission‑critical facilities in Milan. You’ll join a multidisciplinary team to deliver reliable, energy‑efficient solutions that support high‑reliability operations. You will engage in load calculations, equipment sizing, and drafting technical documentation to support project execution. This role offers exposure to cutting‑edge data center cooling technologies within a global engineering powerhouse. You will impact critical infrastructure projects that shape resilient urban environments.

Retribuzione / Benefits

  • Design HVAC and heat rejection systems for data centers and mission‑critical environments, addressing cooling loads, redundancy, expansion flexibility, airflow, humidity, and energy efficiency
  • Assist in selecting and laying out cooling solutions (CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, DX, in‑row cooling, fan walls, containment) per project needs
  • Perform cooling/heating load calculations under senior supervision
  • Contribute to design of chilled water plants, precision cooling, and mechanical ventilation including preliminary sizing
  • Prepare and support development of drawings, specs, calculation notes, and reports in English
  • Develop HVAC schematics, basic system architectures, and P&IDs for mechanical systems
  • Support HVAC modeling in Revit, coordinate with disciplines, and assist clash detection (Revit/Navisworks)
  • Collaborate with electrical, architectural, and structural teams for integrated designs
  • Stay updated on data center cooling tech, HVAC best practices, and international standards

Responsabilità

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • ≈5 years of experience in HVAC and mechanical systems design for buildings, industrial, or critical facilities
  • Exposure to data center, mission‑critical, or high‑reliability HVAC systems
  • Familiarity with design of HVAC and ventilation, chilled water systems, cooling plants, thermal load calculations, and ASHRAE standards
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or mechanical calculation software
  • Working knowledge of Revit for HVAC modeling
  • Familiarity with data center design guidelines (Uptime Institute, TIA‑942, ANSI/BICSI)
  • Exposure to installation or commissioning phases of HVAC systems
  • Basic understanding of control strategies and sequences of operation
  • Awareness of energy efficiency and sustainability principles
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams
  • Good level of English, written and spoken
  • Certifications in data center, energy, sustainability are a plus
