Overview
A leading international data centre contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its growing delivery team in Milan.
Working on large-scale hyperscale data centre projects, the successful candidate will play a key role in the technical delivery of mechanical systems from design coordination through construction, commissioning, and handover. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Europe's busiest data centre contractors, delivering mission-critical infrastructure across a long-term project pipeline.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the technical delivery of mechanical systems throughout the project lifecycle. Review drawings, specifications, tender documentation, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements. Support the selection and procurement of mechanical plant, equipment, and specialist subcontractors. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other building services disciplines to ensure seamless integration of MEP services. Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and installation procedures. Monitor site installation activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, and in line with programme. Assist with project planning, sequencing, and coordination to achieve key programme milestones. Support commercial activities, including change management, variations, monthly valuations, and final accounts. Assist with testing, commissioning, snagging, and project handover to ensure successful project completion. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer within the mechanical and electrical contracting or mission-critical construction sector. Experience delivering data centre, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial, or other large-scale construction projects. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water, pipework, and mechanical building services. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design and construction teams. Good knowledge of construction sequencing, commissioning, and project delivery. Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
