Job Summary/Role description

Reporting to the Engineering Manager of Green Power and Assets Business Unit, the Mechanical Renewable Plant Specialist is involved since the offer phase in renewable plant design and optimization.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To explore the market, identifying the best solutions in terms of solar trackers and wind turbine generators, being aware of the technological materials and equipment evolving
  • Knowledge or attitude to learn the use of software for plant design
  • To simulate different plant configurations, optimizing the cost and schedule for construction execution
  • To prepare and update a database with materials and construction costs, being the data source for the above-mentioned plant configuration simulation
  • To be aware of the best technical solutions in renewable energy plants and green H2, NH3 plants etc.
  • To prepare MR and WR and to evaluate the offers received from the market
  • To prepare Inspection Test Plans relevant to mechanical portion of the supply
  • To support the Planner in preparing the project schedule
  • To support the Field Engineering Manager in defining alternative solutions solving the Site criticalities
  • To support the Project Control Manager in preparing the progress data
  • To support the constructability analysis and relevant follow-up
  • To support the Construction dpt. in identifying construction sequencies permitting to reduce schedule and costs
  • To support the Contract Manager in preparing change orders and claims
  • To support the Subcontract Manager in defining new prices or evaluating the work to be paid to Subcontractors
  • Follow up and check external engineering company design
  • To support the Operation and Maintenance dpt. ensuring a smooth handover

Experience

  • Degree in Energy/Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant experience in Green Power Plants (Solar/Wind, H2, NH3 green projects)
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in renewable EPC Projects
  • The work position is in Head Office, but in case of necessities for solving some Site critical issues, it is required availability to missions at Site of around 1 month.
