Medical Science Liaison - Haematology - Italy

Following the recent promotion of the previous job holder, IQVIA are recruiting for an experienced MSL in Italy as part of an EU team expansion, in advance of a highly anticipated monoclonal antibody product launch in the haematology therapy area.
Our client is a global biopharmaceutical company, dedicated to bringing biosimilar medicines to market, ensuring high-quality biologics are available to more patients at cost effective prices. Since their launch in 2012 they have developed the industry’s most rapidly advancing biosimilar medicines portfolio and become leaders in this field.
Key tasks will include :
- Interactions with national, regional, and local customers (scientific discussions, presentations, data exchange and education) such as clinicians, clinical investigators, and additional external stakeholders
- Providing medical information and responses to complex medical questions from clinicians
- Internal scientific support, training, and provision of an expert resource for colleagues
- Coordination of scientific education activities and participation in events such as Advisory Boards and congresses
- Supporting investigators e.g. investigator sponsored studies
- Interactions with scientific societies and patient groups as appropriate
- Collecting and reporting relevant information to the company, such as competitor information, treatment patterns, product prescribing decision criteria, supply situation
- Duties and responsibilities associated with being the appointed
- Responsabile del Servizio Scientifico (RSS)
- ensuring scientific accuracy of company materials, training sales personnel to the required scientific standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations, adopting measures from MoH and AIFA, interface with AIFA to provide information and assistance required.
- Master’s degree in medicine and surgery, pharmacy, or chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences and technology. Previous experience as an RSS is NOT required.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience in a scientific function and previous customer facing roles in Italy, ideally as an MSL
- Previous haematology or rare diseases therapy area expertise; biosimilars experience strongly preferred
- Understands how to link appropriate scientific support to deliver value in a commercial organization
- Experience in understanding and interpreting clinical trial and statistical analysis with the ability to deliver clear and compelling insight
- Inspirational presenter, conveying scientific material to large audiences in an engaging manner
- Strong leadership qualities, able to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Strong collaborator who can build networks across a complex business, with excellent team working skills, and resilient attitude
- Eligibility to work full-time in Italy
- Fluent Italian and confident English language skills
- Full driving license.
