major
Client in the Oil & Gas industry, we are seeking a highly experienced
I&C Engineer
for a strategic project in the Mediterranean. Project Overview The successful candidate will join the
Engineering
team overseeing a high-profile project involving the construction of new
sealines
and the
revamping
of existing offshore platforms. This is a long-term assignment based in
Milan (Home Office) , with a project duration extending through
December 31, 2027 . Key Responsibilities The role focuses on the supervision of instrumentation design, control systems integration, and technical documentation review: Engineering Document Review:
Systematic review, commenting, and validation of I&C deliverables, including
P&IDs
(instrumentation part), Instrument Index, I/O lists, and Cause & Effect matrices. Control Systems Oversight:
Providing technical expertise for the integration and revamping of
DCS
(Distributed Control Systems),
ESD
(Emergency Shutdown Systems), and
F&G
(Fire & Gas) systems on existing platforms. Subsea Instrumentation:
Reviewing specifications for subsea control modules, sensors, and umbilical terminations, ensuring reliable signal transmission and system interoperability. Equipment Specification:
Reviewing data sheets and technical requisitions for field instruments, control valves, and metering systems suitable for offshore/marine environments. Technical Compliance:
Ensuring all instrumentation and control designs align with international standards (e.g., ISA, IEC 61508/61511 for Functional Safety) and specific project requirements. Reporting & Administration:
Accurate management and compilation of project
timesheets , technical query (TQ) logs, and periodic engineering status reports. Interfacing:
Acting as the I&C focal point between the Client, contractors, and other disciplines (Process, Electrical, and Subsea) to ensure seamless system integration. Required Qualifications & Skills Experience:
10+ years of experience in Instrumentation & Control Engineering within the
Oil & Gas
sector, with specific expertise in
Offshore and Subsea
projects. Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of brownfield integration, Functional Safety (SIL), and subsea control architectures. Standards Expertise:
Familiarity with ATEX/IECEx requirements for hazardous areas and offshore-specific instrumentation codes. Languages:
Full professional proficiency in
English
(written and spoken) is mandatory; knowledge of Italian is a strong asset. Soft Skills:
Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to technical detail, and the ability to manage complex technical documentation in a corporate office environment. Start Date:
Immediate. Contract Type:
