Motorsport Head of Logistic-Senior Manager

About the Position

The Head of Logistics for the Motorsport Division will report directly to the Motorsport President and manage a team of 12 people (3 direct People Managers and 9 Individual Contributors) across three production sites in Italy: Corbetta (preferred), Bologna, and Venaria Reale.

The role is responsible for leading and managing both internal and external logistics flows from supplier to customer, ensuring optimal service at competitive cost in the dynamic motorsport environment.

Your Responsibilities will be:

• Design and deploy the logistics strategy, defining the roadmap and action plans;
• Manage the external logistics process to optimize working capital management, transport solutions, and logistics footprint;
• Coordinate and oversee internal logistics processes across the three production sites, ensuring alignment and collaboration between production and logistics departments;
• Work closely with internal stakeholders (Planning, Sales Management, Production, Finance, Purchasing) as well as customers and suppliers to meet or exceed customer needs;
• Conduct stock analysis, share results with Top Management, suggest corrective actions, and lead scrapping activities;
• Interact with suppliers for logistics and transportation services in strict alignment with the Purchasing department to evaluate recovery plans when needed;
• Lead the yearly inventory count process, aligning with finance, interacting with external auditors, analyzing root causes, and defining corrective actions;
• Govern subcontractor yearly inventory counts;
• Lead special projects that impact logistics flows and be accountable for results;
• Supervise physical and documentary flow of international shipments, especially customs-related topics;
• Monitor and propose improvement plans for logistics KPIs;
• Cooperate with the Planning department to ensure effective material management balancing supplier delivery, customer requirements, and stock level KPIs;
• Lead and manage the team to deliver results.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years of experience in a similar role within a dynamic industrial environment;
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end logistics processes, both internal and external;
• Knowledge of customs rules for international shipping;
• Solid background in transportation services;
• Ability to oversee warehouses and inbound/outbound flows;
• Leadership attitude and hands‑on approach;
• Customer‑focused mindset with ability to handle stress and strict deadlines;
• Fluent in Italian and English;
• Availability to travel to other sites for business reasons;
• Very good knowledge of Office applications, especially Excel;
• Confidence with SAP Logistic ERP system;
• Analytical mindset.
