In this role you lead and coach the MSL team to deliver high-quality scientific information and strategic field medical activities for a therapeutic area. You shape and execute Local Medical Plans and Field Medical Plans, ensuring regulatory compliance and strong KOL partnerships. You’ll drive cross-functional collaboration and data-driven insight generation to support medical and business objectives. This is an opportunity to lead a high-performance team in a mission-driven company focused on ultra-rare diseases.

- Provide leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day management for the MSL team in a therapeutic area
- Foster strong relationships with KOLs and external stakeholders
- Co-design Local Medical Plan (LMP) and develop Field Medical Plan (FMP) as part of the LMP
- Ensure field medical operations are effective and compliant with medical guidelines
- Cultivate a healthy, diverse, and high-performance team culture with ongoing coaching and development
- Manage performance, development plans, and talent review processes for the MSL team
- Recruit, hire, and onboard MSLs to build a high-performing team
- Monitor MSL metrics and report field medical value to the business
- Coordinate collection and reporting of actionable insights from KOLs and stakeholders
- Maintain high scientific standards in external engagements and cross-functional collaborations
- Support evidence generation projects and identify opportunities to enhance medical objectives
- Build team capabilities with tools, training, and materials for effective engagements
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and local regulations in all medical activities
- Collaborate across Medical and cross-functional teams to standardize MSL approaches
- Foster cross-functional integration of MSL roles and activities
- Pharma Degree, PhD, MD or other health/life sciences degree with at least 5 years of experience in clinical, scientific, or pharma settings
- Experience managing products during launches in cross-functional environments
- Proven people management experience and ability to coach and develop teams
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
- Results-oriented with adaptability to changing market dynamics
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic field-based environment
- Curious, growth mindset and active listening skills
- Experience in the relevant therapeutic area preferred
- Knowledge of healthcare system and pharma industry guidelines
- Strong commitment to compliance, quality and integrity
