The project aims to develop, validate and implement nutritional, culinary nutrition and lifestyle medicine interventions based on an assessment of dietary habits, food and culinary skills, body composition and the main determinants of lifestyle. Particular attention will be addressed to the context of ultra-processed foods and drinks. The activities will involve both healthy and vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on people with cancer, neurodegenerative and cardiovascular conditions. The project will combine observational studies, the validation of new assessment tools, educational interventions and combined programmes in which dietary and nutritional interventions will be integrated with other aspects of lifestyle. An integral part of the project will be its dissemination in both national and international contexts.Teaching and supplementary activities, including those conducted in English, will relate to subjects within the scientific-disciplinary sector MEDS-08/C "Food Science and Applied Dietetic Techniques", as part of the Department's bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programmes. The post will also involve supervising bachelor's and master's theses, as well as providing tutoring and career guidance to students. The researcher will also be required to make an ongoing contribution to the organisation and management of teaching, research and community engagement activities at the University and within the relevant Department, ensuring participation in the Department's governing bodies and the committees of those bodies. As part of the Department's academic planning, they will also assist with examinations and provide tutoring for students, final-year undergraduates, PhD candidates, interns and thesis students. Support for the quality and organisation of teaching on the Dietetics degree programme will also be required. The researcher will deliver seminars, elective modules and training activities relating to the scientific discipline group (SSD) MEDS-08/C 'Food Science and Applied Dietetic Techniques'. The successful candidate will play a central role in the design and conduct of observational and intervention studies in the fields of nutrition and applied dietary techniques, as well as culinary nutrition and lifestyle medicine.
