Consulting Engineer/High Touch Engineer

Contract: freelance (B2B), full-time

We are seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer with deep expertise in networking technologies to support customers in the design, deployment, and optimization of complex IT infrastructure solutions. In this customer-facing role, you will take a leadership position in delivery engagements, act as a trusted technical advisor, and contribute to the development of best practices and reusable digital assets across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with customers and internal stakeholders on the strategy, deployment, and optimization of advanced networking services and solutions.
• Take ownership and leadership of delivery projects, ensuring high-quality execution and customer satisfaction.
• Develop, review, and approve technical project deliverables including High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), and Change/Implementation Plans.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the broader engineering team by documenting and improving reusable methods and solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues by building or leveraging test environments and applying deep diagnostic skills.
• Configure, deploy, and support network solutions using automation, scripting, and other software tools.
• Serve as a focal point for escalations during customer engagements, ensuring rapid and thorough issue resolution across a range of technologies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in network engineering, consulting, or solution delivery roles.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, design methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools to optimize solution deployment and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication skills in both Italian and English.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to analyze complex situations and deliver innovative solutions.
