Consulting Engineer – Hybrid, Rome

Location: Rome, Italy (Hybrid – primarily remote with occasional client visits)

We are looking for an experienced Consulting Engineer to support the successful design, implementation, and optimization of technology solutions for key client accounts. This is a high-impact role combining deep technical expertise with client-facing collaboration to drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize complex network solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Work directly with clients to plan, configure, and troubleshoot cutting-edge technologies.
• Lead technical delivery and act as a focal point for problem resolution across a wide technology scope.
• Develop design documentation, implementation plans, and knowledge-sharing assets.
• Contribute to presales activities by translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Build simulations in test labs to validate complex configurations and resolve compatibility issues.
• Support digital transformation and innovation through custom tooling and scripting.

Role-Specific Focus

• Collaborate with internal teams and partners to ensure successful delivery of network services.
• Take ownership of customer engagements, from architecture to deployment and optimization.
• Create and validate High-Level and Low-Level Designs, change management plans, and test strategies.
• Influence customer technology strategies and service architectures.
• Support pre-sales engagements in collaboration with account teams.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent); Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or consulting.
• Strong skills in Routing & Switching , Software-Defined Networking (SDA, SD-WAN), and preferably Routed Optical Networks (RON) .
• Certifications: CCNP minimum; CCIE preferred.
• Solid communication skills and experience engaging with technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent in Italian and English (both mandatory).
• Italian citizenship and passport required for project-specific clearance.
