Operations Controls Engineer (Italian & English Speaking)
As an Operations Controls Engineer at Equinix, you will ensure the reliability and efficiency of critical data center infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize monitoring, controls, and automation across a diverse portfolio of facilities. Your work will focus on improving visibility, alarm quality, and performance metrics while supporting commissioning and project delivery with vendors and site teams. Employee Assistance Program equity may be offered depending on position competitive pay international career opportunities inclusion and sustainability values Configure, onboard and validate assets, alarms and monitoring points in BMS and DCIM platforms Support implementation and validation of power circuit monitoring in BCM systems Review and maintain electrical hierarchies using one-line diagrams and schematics Validate and optimize performance metrics (PUE/WUE) Troubleshoot data quality, integration and controls performance across monitoring platforms Support controls integrations, point mapping, alarming strategies and data flows Identify opportunities to improve monitoring coverage, visibility, alarms, and system performance Participate in commissioning, startup, testing and validation for controls and monitoring deployments Collaborate with vendors, consultants and site teams to deliver projects Develop technical documentation, procedures and implementation standards Partner with regional operations teams and global stakeholders Share knowledge and best practices to improve reliability and operational effectiveness Support a culture of continuous learning, innovation and excellence Experience in controls engineering, building automation, industrial controls or critical facility environments Strong troubleshooting across field devices, controllers, network components and supervisory systems Knowledge of controls systems supporting electrical, HVAC, fire protection and other critical infrastructure Experience with BACnet, Modbus and OPC Familiarity with Schneider Electric PLCs and AVEVA System Platform Experience with Kepware, Matrikon or similar historians/data collection tools Understanding of IP networking (switches, routers, VLANs) and troubleshooting Ability to interpret Sequences of Operation, P&IDs, control drawings and one-line diagrams As an Operations Controls Engineer at Equinix, you will ensure the reliability and efficiency of critical data center infrastructure.
