Operations Specialist (Internship)
About Us Our company rises out of a passion for travel and the desire to develop a product that enriches people's lives. We mindfully manage all our homes and know them inside out as our owners would. Our portfolio doesn't just get talked about—it sets the standards when it comes to some of the most transformative travel journeys in Italy.
Is This Role For You? This is NOT a typical administrative internship. It's a hands-on operational role in a fast-moving startup where you'll be directly responsible for guest experiences and property quality. You'll juggle multiple priorities, solve unexpected problems, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. If you're someone who gets overwhelmed easily, prefers clear routines, or needs constant guidance, this isn't the right fit. But if you thrive on variety, care deeply about quality, and want to build real operational skills while growing a business you actually believe in—keep reading.
What You'll Actually Do Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance and technology issues across multiple properties—from WiFi problems to contractor coordination Conduct quality audits on housekeeping and inventory to ensure our properties meet luxury standards consistently Manage guest experience touchpoints: prepare welcome kits, coordinate arrivals, ensure flawless first impressions Handle reservations and guest requests, learning to match bookings to customer needs and budgets Travel between properties throughout the city to troubleshoot, audit, and problem-solve in real-time
The Reality of This Role Some days you'll fix a WiFi router. Other days you'll coordinate with contractors, troubleshoot a guest complaint, and prepare three welcome kits. On weekends, you might need to handle an urgent issue at a property. There's no formula—problems change daily and you need to figure them out. We WILL teach you everything. You won't be alone. But we need someone who sees 'figure it out' as exciting, not stressful.
Who We Actually Need You have these core traits: ORGANIZED & SELF-DIRECTED - You manage your own day without constant supervision. You know what needs to happen and you make it happen. TASK PRIORITIZER - When five things need doing, you know which three matter most. You learn fast how to handle competing priorities. DRIVEN BY QUALITY - You don't just complete tasks; you care that they're done well. Guest experience matters to you. Attention to detail is natural, not forced. GROWTH-ORIENTED - You see problems as learning opportunities, not obstacles. You ask 'why' and 'how can I get better?' You want to grow within the company, not just collect resume lines. RESILIENT - You handle stress and ambiguity without burning out. You can work flexible/weekend hours without resentment because you believe in what you're building. INDEPENDENT PROBLEM-SOLVER - You don't need step-by-step instructions. You research, ask smart questions, and figure things out. MOBILE - Bike or scooter, you can move around the city quickly. You're comfortable with physical work—no ego about rolling up your sleeves.
Requirements Fluent in English and Italian Additional languages a plus Reliable personal transport (bike/scooter) or ability to get around quickly
Position Details Type: 6-month paid internship Schedule: Flexible, including evenings and weekends (24/7 hospitality business) Location: Rome (local market travel required)
Growth Opportunity We're a growing startup, and there's real space to grow here. Talented, driven interns regularly transition into full-time operational positions. Your role isn't fixed—as we expand and you prove yourself, opportunities emerge. Whether it's managing a larger property portfolio, leading quality initiatives, or moving into a new area of operations, we build careers from within. We invest in people who care.
Why It Matters You'll see the direct impact of your work—when a guest has an amazing experience, you made that happen. You'll learn how luxury properties are actually managed, and you'll build skills in operations, problem-solving, and team coordination that few internships offer. Most importantly, if you're the right fit, this isn't just an internship—it's the beginning of your career in hospitality operations.
Sound Like You? If you read this and thought 'yes, I want that challenge,' apply. We're looking for someone who's excited by the opportunity to grow and genuinely cares about doing great work. If you're unsure about the pace or independence this requires, that's okay—it's not the right fit and we'd rather know that now.
