Packaging Development Specialist (NPD)

The ideal candidate will negotiate the best purchasing conditions (cost, quality, timing) of primary packaging, secondary packaging, based on procurement strategy, following methods, tools and policy.
She/He will be responsible for the best packaging proposal in reference to a customer’s brief, and place the PO to the packaging supplier.
She/He follow the project from the first quotation to the first launch on the market, in compliance to logistic and quality performances.
Reporting to Procurement Manager he/she will be accountable for the following:
- To source a specific packaging related to a customer’s project, based on Sales request, in compliance with cost / quality / timing of the project
- To negotiate the cost of the packaging with suppliers, and once the project is won, she/he place the PO of the launch on the market
- To be in contact with Marketing Team in order to check/update existing “ready to go” packaging, but also to improve the packaging proposal in terms of innovation
- To be involved in the Supplier Evaluation process regarding technical/commercial relations
- To support Quality Department in managing non conformities
Skills required:
- Degree in technical or economic discipline
- Fluent in English is an essential requisite, French or another foreign language are a plus
- Minimum two year experience in a similar role and/or in managing projects
- IT knowledge: good knowledge of the Office package (Excel) and project management tools
- Good interpersonal relationship, cooperative approach and teamwork
- Good communication and ability to synthesize
- Effective workload planning, respect of deadlines, ability to define priorities and manage stress
- Ability to search for information, flexibility and adaptability, negotiation skills
- Self-motivation and great sense of responsibility and confidentiality, personal ethics, tact and diplomacy
- ability to read technical drawings
- Availability to travel occasionally in Italy and abroad
