The candidate will be part of the IDV Manufacturing team within the Painting Department , with the aim of promoting the best technical and process solutions in order to achieve the efficiency, quality and safety requirements specific to coating and finishing processes.
The resource will operate in a make-to-order environment, highly customized and characterized by frequent and rapid implementation requests related to product finishing and painting specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervising and coordinating daily painting activities , ensuring compliance with production plans, technical specifications and quality standards of coating applications (surface preparation, masking, painting, curing, inspection);
• Supporting the development and implementation of immediate solutions related to painting defects, process anomalies, and production bottlenecks, in collaboration with all plant functions;
• Interfacing with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and HSE departments to guarantee process stability, correct material usage (paints, solvents), and safe operations within the painting area;
• Developing internal and external benchmarking activities to identify new technologies and best practices in painting processes (e.g. automation, eco-friendly coatings, process optimization), promoting standardization of tools and procedures;
• Ensuring the correct implementation and monitoring of KPIs , such as paint consumption, defect rates, rework, cycle times, and efficiency of painting lines;
• Managing production launch activities , ensuring painting process capability in line with quality, cost, delivery and aesthetic requirements of the final product;
• Collaborating in the industrialization and installation of new painting processes or product applications , supporting the project team in diagnosing and solving issues from launch phase to stabilization and continuous improvement;
• Promoting continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen) within the painting department to enhance productivity and reduce waste;
• Ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations , particularly those related to chemical handling and painting operations.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials or Management Engineering (or equivalent experience in industrial painting processes);
• Proven experience in painting/coating processes and production supervision within a manufacturing environment;
• Good knowledge of surface treatment, painting technologies, and finishing processes ;
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office package, especially Excel and PowerPoint;
• Good knowledge of English (minimum B2 level required);
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies;
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with leadership attitude and team-oriented mindset;
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced and highly customized production environment.
