Gruppo Lactalis Italia is looking for a Parmigiano Reggiano Milk Technician to join the Castelli DOP & Specialità BU. The resource, within the context of milk collection for Parmigiano Reggiano production, will be responsible for providing technical support and consultancy to breeders in all phases of the relationship, coordinating activities related to quality control and logistics of collection, and supporting the manager in contract execution activities.
Responsibilities
During the accreditation process, ensures initial contact with supplying companies and collects necessary documentation for preliminary checks; participates in site visits during accreditation and contributes to the evaluation of suppliers' accredibility, in collaboration with Italy Milk Quality & CSR;
Defines the sampling calendar and organizes sampling activities, compatible with logistical constraints, ensuring communication between the involved parties; activates and coordinates the management procedure for "Non-conformities" identified during acceptance and supports breeders in restoration activities, in case of suspension of supply;
Defines the unloading schedule at the plants, based on the milk plan and production plan, optimizing routes, taking into account collection points and destinations;
Monitors that daily quantities reported in the manifests are consistent with the weight recorded at the plant and quality parameters, in order to verify if the price paid to breeders is consistent with the quantity and quality of milk received, managing any discrepancies. Manages the reconciliation process by checking data received from the plants;
Continuously verifies the performance of breeders in terms of milk volume and quality delivered, proactively communicating to all interested stakeholders;
Supports breeders in identifying possible solutions for improving milk quality (e.g., stable organization, feeding, etc.); under the supervision and coordination of Italy Milk Collection, manages daily relations with Local Health Authorities regarding milk conformity.
Required Skills
Degree in Animal Husbandry, Agriculture or related disciplines;
Professional experience of at least 2 years in livestock farming or milk collection;
Professional knowledge of milk raw material and its composition;
Good knowledge of English, French is considered a plus;
Excellent command of the Office package, especially Excel;
Ability to analyze, manage priorities and urgencies;
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong aptitude for teamwork;
Autonomy, initiative, intellectual curiosity, and flexibility.
Key Information About the Position
Location: Reggio Emilia (RE).
Availability for daily travel to relevant stables.
