We are seeking a junior/medium experienced Patent Attorney (f/m/d) to join our dynamic intellectual property team at DeSimone & Partners in Rome . The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in patent practice, with a technical background in the life sciences field, preferably in biology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical chemistry. The preferred candidate is a qualified Italian Patent Attorney and/or partially qualified under the European Qualifying Examination (EQE).

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications in Italy and Europe.
• Conducting patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate analyses, and providing strategic advice to clients.
• Collaborating with research and development teams and tech transfer offices of Universities, Foundations, Pharmaceuticals and Biotech companies, to identify and protect innovations.
• Representing clients before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office.
• Keeping up-to-date with changes in patent law and practice.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Laurea Vecchio Ordinamento or Laurea Magistrale in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology (CTF), or a similar field. PhD is a preferred title.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent law in the life sciences sector.
• Certification: Qualified Italian Patent Attorney and/or partially qualified under the EQE.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and in English.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Siamo alla ricerca di un Consulente Brevettuale junior da inserire nel nostro team di Roma. Il candidato ideale ha almeno 3 anni di esperienza nel campo dei brevetti e una solida formazione accademica nelle scienze della vita, preferibilmente in biologia, biotecnologie o chimica farmaceutica. È preferibile aver superato l'esame di abilitazione presso l'Ufficio Italiano Brevetti e Marchi o parte dell'Esame di Qualificazione Europeo (EQE).

• Responsabilità principali: redazione, deposito, analisi di brevettabilità, collaborazione con centri di ricerca, supporto nel rappresentare i clienti presso uffici brevetti.
• Qualifiche: laurea in scienze della vita, minimo 3 anni di esperienza, abilitazione italiana e/o EQE.
• Competenze: capacità analitiche, comunicative, gestione progetti, attenzione ai dettagli, lavoro in team e autonomia.
