Patent Attorney

Location

Italy (Remote within Italy/Hybrid working). This is a flexible, international opportunity. While the role is open globally, you’ll be expected to spend regular time (typically weekly) in Parma to collaborate with the wider team.

We’re partnered with an innovative, research‑driven pharmaceutical and healthcare group that’s making a real impact in the Life Sciences space.

We are looking for a Patent Attorney with a Life Sciences background to join their growing IP team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone earlier in their career to step into a broad, hands‑on role with real exposure to cutting‑edge R&D and global IP strategy.

You’ll play a key role in protecting and strengthening the company’s IP portfolio, supporting both internal innovation projects and exciting in‑licensing opportunities.

The Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive, and ready to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will have:

• A Master’s degree in Life Sciences (or equivalent)
• Around 2–5 years’ PQE experience in Intellectual Property (industry or private practice)
• Fluent English and Italian
• A solid understanding of the R&D lifecycle
• An interest in the pharmaceutical/healthcare sector
• Italian Patent Attorney qualification (or working towards European qualification)
• A flexible, adaptable and collaborative mindset

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct prior art searches and contribute to patentability assessments
• Support infringement and validity analyses
• Assist with drafting and prosecuting patent applications globally
• Monitor and analyse third‑party patent activity
• Contribute to due diligence projects
• Support opposition and litigation activities
