Overview
The University of Trento (UniTrento) in collaboration with the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission announces a selection process for two positions under the Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (CDP) scheme, an initiative to train new doctoral graduates on the science‑policy interface.
The successful applicants will be admitted to the Doctoral Programme in Information Engineering and Computer Science – 42nd cycle – Academic Year 2026/2027. Collaborative Doctoral Partnership PhD students will spend part of their time at the University of Trento and part at the JRC – Ispra.
Eligibility Applications for PhD positions are accepted from applicants, regardless of gender, age and nationality, who hold an Italian “Laurea Magistrale” as defined by DM no. 270 of 22.10.2004 and subsequent amendments, or an equivalent Italian academic degree or an equivalent foreign academic degree (Master’s degree) recognized as equivalent by the Admissions Committee. Applications are also accepted from students expecting to obtain the necessary degree by October 31, 2026.

Selection Process The selection is necessary to assess the applicant’s knowledge and research aptitude in the scientific area of the Programme. The process will be conducted in two consecutive stages:
Pre‑selection by University of Trento, based on an assessment of all mandatory applicant qualifications.
Final selection by JRC, with an interview.
The application form must be completed online and successfully submitted by 4:00 PM Italian time on June 25th 2026.
