Physical Security Program Manager, Japan Physical Security Programs
Physical Security Program Manager plans, develops, and implements effective solutions related to physical security that support the enhancement of security and loss prevention capabilities in a cost-effective manner to protect the safety of Amazon people, property, and confidential information in Amazon's warehouses, delivery stations, and related facilities. These solutions require the effective use of advanced technologies and applications in compliance with Amazon's security policies and local laws and regulations. The PM must constantly update and implement their extensive knowledge of the latest security and loss prevention measures and related regulations. The PM must work closely with various internal and external stakeholders, including global security and loss prevention teams, operations, IT, facilities, safety, legal, procurement, finance, law enforcement, and government agencies, to improve Amazon SLP methods and systems from an international perspective and contribute to Amazon's international business growth. The PM must set and ensure the achievement of multiple stretch goals that incorporate creative ideas and new technologies for physical security, loss prevention, incident management, and fraud prevention to innovate Amazon SLP operations. Additionally, the PM must oversee suppliers such as security guard companies and security system agents, maximizing performance at optimal costs, including cost reduction.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop creative and innovative programs and solutions to improve Amazon's security and loss prevention mechanisms by identifying risks against Amazon Business.
- Research, develop, and adopt new technologies, applications, knowledge, and skills from the global market to leverage them effectively for Amazon SLP operations.
- Formulate and implement cost-effective countermeasures for SLP activities and operations.
- Introduce or enhance global mechanisms or initiatives to field SLP and guard operations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, proposing suitable projects from a security and loss prevention perspective.
- Suggest the development of Amazon security policies and regulations for advanced risk management.
- Localize and implement global standards, supervising compliance and audits.
- Manage and improve supplier performance, controlling both CAPEX and OPEX costs.
- Create procedures for security and loss prevention and conduct training for field teams, suppliers, and security personnel.
- Track team activities and publish monthly reports on SLP and team performance.
- Enhance team skills and expertise.
A day in the life
- Identify security or loss risks faced by Amazon Operations and develop innovative programs to mitigate these risks.
- Seek opportunities for cost savings and develop actionable plans.
- Establish partnerships through regular communication with counterparts in Japan and other countries to optimize team performance.
- Plan and promote awareness activities, such as training, to ensure compliance and security awareness in the field.

About the team
The roles of the Japan Physical Security team include:
- Propose programs and solutions to mitigate security and loss risks to the Amazon Business Team.
- Manage projects related to physical security programs for business or site launches.
- Lead local projects to enhance security and loss prevention capabilities or reduce costs.
- Oversee repair and maintenance to minimize security system defects.
- Manage compliance and lead security audits.
- Research and develop technologies to strengthen security and loss prevention.
- Manage suppliers to improve their performance.
- Control and manage investment and fixed costs for security and loss prevention operations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Required experiences
- Bachelor's Degree or Professional Certification
- Over 3 years of experience in physical security and loss prevention management in major global tech companies, data centers, international manufacturers, factories, large logistics facilities, or military facilities.
- Over 3 years of experience in Program and Project Management.
- Experience in planning and proposing advanced security and loss prevention initiatives in a security team or security service company.
- Proven track record of leading technological and operational innovations in a major company.
Required skills

- Audit, Inspection, and Root Cause Analysis

- Advanced documentation and proposal skills
- PC skills, including data analytics management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in IT-related technology development
- Experience in application or programming language development
- Experience leading security management in military, public agencies, or international security companies
- Experience establishing information security systems
- Experience obtaining global certifications like TAPA or ISO27001
- Experience in proposal-based sales of security equipment
- Experience leading audit/inspection teams in security and data privacy
- Security or loss prevention certifications (e.g., CPP, FSR, PSP, PMP, CISSP)
- Enthusiasm for working in diverse, inclusive teams
