Your Impact
As a Platform Engineer on the Release team, you will focus on the delivery flow of our software, directly impacting how Mollie ships products to hundreds of thousands of businesses. Mollie is doubling down on reliability, and you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our software is deployed securely, reliably, and can be seamlessly rolled back if issues arise.
You will be at the forefront of bringing Mollie’s reliability standards to 4 and 4.5 nines for our critical services. Operating in a GitOps environment, you will take ownership of our continuous delivery platform, solving complex infrastructure challenges, and leading an ambitious initiative to roll out canary deployments and feature flags across all critical services by the end of the year.
What You’ll Ship
- Continuous Delivery Excellence: Ensure the scalability, reliability, and availability of our CD platform and supporting infrastructure using GitLab, Argo CD, and GitOps methodologies.
- Advanced Deployment Strategies: Design, implement, and evolve deployment strategies, taking charge of our ambitious timeline to roll out canary deployments and feature flags company-wide.
- Reliability & Uptime: Champion high operational standards, contributing directly to Mollie's strategic goal of achieving 4 to 4.5 nines of uptime for critical services.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Apply robust monitoring and alerting practices to detect issues early. Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve complex system issues to maintain platform resilience.
- Platform Evolution: Drive continuous improvement in the problem space of software delivery, treating all new features under feature flags and enabling a culture of safe experimentation.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 3+ years as a Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or DevOps Engineer.
- Containerization & Cloud skills: Strong, hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes (preferably GKE) and public cloud infrastructure (preferably GCP).
- CI/CD & GitOps: Deep knowledge of CI/CD practices and strong experience with Argo CD (or similar tools like Flux).
- Infrastructure & Code: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and solid programming/scripting skills.
- Observability: Strong skills in monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Hands‑on experience with feature flag management systems (OpenFeature, Flagd) and deep GitLab/GitHub expertise.
