Pre-commissioning Manager

MAX STREICHER S.p.A. is a leading EPC contractor operating in the Oil & Gas sector (pipelines & plants), headquartered in Parma, Italy, and active on complex projects both in Italy and internationally.

Posizione

We are currently looking for a Pre-Commissioning Manager to join our project in The Netherlands , involving the mechanical construction of a bio-refinery plant for a leading international client. The role is site-based and will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination and execution of pre-commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with project requirements, technical standards and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the Pre-Commissioning strategy and execution plan, including procedures and method statements for Client approval
• Lead and coordinate all pre-commissioning activities by system and subsystem, ensuring readiness for Mechanical Completion and handover
• Manage resources, tools and subcontractors, overseeing execution and ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines
• Supervise testing activities on piping systems, equipment and related interfaces (flushing, hydrotesting, leak testing, etc.)
• Monitor progress, punch lists and close‑out activities, ensuring timely completion and proper turnover to commissioning
• Interface with Client and stakeholders, including site walkthroughs and validation of procedures (SIMOPS, permits, partial handover)
• Ensure proper documentation and preparation of Mechanical Completion dossiers, maintaining full traceability of tests, inspections and activities

Requisiti

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical background)
• 10+ years of experience in Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning roles, including team coordination responsibilities
• Proven experience in EPC industrial projects such as refineries, petrochemical, power, gas or biofuel plants
• Strong knowledge of piping systems and pre-commissioning activities
• Familiarity with completion, handover and turnover processes
• Good knowledge of international codes and standard (e.g. ASME B31.3, PED, DVGW)
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in English (minimum B2 level)
• Knowledge of Italian is considered a plus
