About the Role

An Assistant Teacher provides educational support to students under the guidance of class teachers and the SENDCo (SEN & Assistant Teachers Coordinator). The role involves supporting small groups of students to reinforce learning in line with agreed objectives, delivering targeted intervention activities, and assisting with class cover when required. In some cases, the Assistant Teacher may also deliver a limited number of lessons under supervision. Working flexibly across different classes and year groups, the role requires a proactive and collaborative approach to meet the needs of the school. The Assistant Teacher will promote inclusion, positive behaviour, and a safe, calm learning environment, while working closely with teachers, support staff, and school leadership. Responsibilities also include monitoring student engagement, wellbeing, and progress, and providing feedback to inform teaching and interventions. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality, contribute to training, meetings, and school events, and be willing to undertake additional duties in line with the needs of the role. This is a part‑time, fixed‑term contract of 20 hours per week, starting 1 September 2026 until 30 June 2027.
