Private Client Lending Manager

Our Client is seeking a Private Client Lending Manager with experience in private client lending and a strong understanding of the market. The candidate must be fluent in Italian and French, and proficient in English.

This role, based in Milan, serves as the primary employee of the Italian Branch and is responsible for providing credit facilities, specifically Lombard loans, to existing and new clients of the Wealth Management business. The role also involves overseeing the loan book and liaising with both Italian and international teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Managing credit facilities (Lombard loans)
2. Handling lending inquiries and questions from client advisers and clients
3. Explaining lending terms to clients and advisers
4. Preparing loan facility term sheets for internal review and approval
5. Preparing credit papers and presenting at Credit Committees
6. Assisting with loan documentation, including facility agreements and security documentation
7. Monitoring and reviewing credit facilities (e.g., covenants, undertakings)

Operational Tasks

1. Coordinating branch regulatory and tax reporting with external service providers
2. Managing account opening, client reporting, and other operational tasks for the branch
3. Monitoring the performance of operational and IT service providers and outsourcers

Experience and Qualifications

1. Experience in private client lending with market knowledge
2. Understanding of regulatory requirements, especially Bank of Italy regulations
3. Strong analytical skills to assess credit risks and mitigation measures
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Effective interpersonal skills for communication with clients, advisers, and colleagues across Europe
6. Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under tight deadlines with limited supervision
7. Strong organizational and time management skills
8. Proficiency in MS Office
9. Relevant lending experience
10. Fluent in Italian and French; Proficient in English
