The candidate will become part of the NX Engineering District of Catania, working on innovative and novel technologies fully enabling the energy transition.

He/she is responsible for preparing technical specifications, material requisitions and technical evaluations for the plant Control Systems and Safety Instrumented Systems. It also includes overseeing, reviewing and coordinating suppliers’ development activities.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the quality of all produced technical documentation assigned, guaranteeing the quality of the generated deliverables and their compliance with the contractual project requirements, within the assigned budget and schedule.
  • Acquiring the technical training as per Department and company needs and exchanging experience with colleagues of the entire Group for new design techniques.
  • Staying up‑to‑date about the technical specific improvement of the discipline.
  • Improving knowledge and skills in using CAE tools.
  • Supporting the Department management in maintaining, applying and continuously updating the specifications, material requisitions, technical evaluations and engineering deliverables.
  • Reviewing and commenting on vendor drawings developed during the project execution.
  • Attending the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the control systems at supplier facilities.
  • Participating in system start‑up activities and site acceptance tests (SAT) for plant control systems.
  • Supporting Construction and Commissioning departments based on site requests and project needs.

Personal Attributes

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Automation Specialist within Oil & Gas, Energy or industrial projects.
  • Fluent English speaker and writer.
  • Availability to travel for short/medium periods in Italy and abroad.
  • Highly motivated, team‑oriented, and proactive approach to challenges.
