Process Control & Automation Specialist • Roma, Lazio, IT

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the quality of all produced documentation and its compliance with contractual project requirements, within the assigned budget and schedule.
  • Supporting the Department Manager in maintaining, applying, and continuously updating departmental and corporate standards, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Acquiring the technical training required by the department and the Company, and sharing new design methodologies with colleagues across the Group.
  • Staying up to date on technical innovations related to the discipline and transferring this knowledge to team members.
  • Monitoring the market to assess the “state of the art” and providing technical and commercial evaluations of new products, technologies, workflows, and applications.
  • Improving the knowledge and effective use of engineering software tools.
  • Reviewing and commenting on Vendor documentation throughout project development.
  • Representing the department responsible for Testing activities during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of control systems at suppliers’ facilities.
  • Participating in system start‑up activities and site acceptance tests (SAT) for plant control systems.
  • Supporting Construction and Commissioning departments based on site requests and project needs.
  • Business trips for testing and commissioning are expected for an approximate period of 6 to 9 months, at construction sites located outside Italy.

Personal Attributes

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering in engineering companies or manufacturers of static equipment.
  • At least four years of experience as Automation Specialist.
  • Fluent English speaker and writer.
  • Availability to travel for short/medium period in Italy and abroad.
  • Past experiences in autonomously executing tasks on projects.
  • Past experiences on control systems factory acceptance tests and/or plant erection/commissioning.
