Role: Product Development Assistant - WW Shoes
Reports to: Senior Product Developer WW Shoes
Location: Fiesso D’Artico (ITALY)

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Product Developer WW Shoes, the Shoes Product Development Assistant supports the execution of the Shoes Product Development strategy and contributes to the category’s growth objectives. This role requires strong organizational skills, precision, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to ensure smooth coordination of product development activities, accurate data management, and effective communication across all involved departments.
The Assistant will support the Product Development team throughout the entire product lifecycle, ensuring timely information flow, operational efficiency, and alignment between Product Development, Industrialization, and Production.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
Product Development & Operational Support
- Support the execution of the development process for assigned collections, from initial design phases through sample realization, ensuring proper coordination of activities and timely follow-up across departments.
- Create, maintain, and continuously update supporting Excel files and development trackers to guarantee correct timing management, reporting accuracy, and efficient information flow throughout the development cycle.
- Support sample tracking activities and manage all related supporting documentation required during development and industrialization phases.
- Collaborate closely with Product Development, Industrialization, and Production teams to facilitate smooth communication and operational alignment.
- Support the preparation of materials, samples, and equipment required for showroom presentations and fashion shows, ensuring timely readiness and delivery.
PLM, ERP & Data Accuracy
- Ensure accurate data entry, consolidation, and maintenance within PLM and ERP systems for assigned styles and collections.
- Support style creation and coding activities, ensuring consistency of technical specifications, material information, colors, and component data.
- Maintain and update the master archive for materials, colors, and components, ensuring full alignment across systems and departments.
- Proactively monitor data accuracy, identifying and resolving inconsistencies or missing information in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Development & Raw Material Coordination:
- Work closely with the Sourcing team to ensure referencing compliance and conformity of materials and components against approved samples.
- Follow up on pre-buy activities and risk purchases based on Merchandising requests and development priorities.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components required for prototypes and sample production.
- Support the monitoring of supplier timelines and material deliveries to ensure adherence to development and production calendars.
- Collect and accurately manage preliminary cost information related to components, semi-finished materials, and processing costs, ensuring their availability and accuracy in support of the Costing team's subsequent activities.
Production & Supply Chain Support
- Support the consolidation of delivery priorities by vendor in close collaboration with the Production team and relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor agreed planning with raw material and component suppliers, ensuring timely material availability for manufacturing partners.
- Support vendors in the management and resolution of raw material and component issues with suppliers.
- Participate in post-purchase and end-of-season stock reviews with the objective of minimizing residual inventory and supporting stock optimization activities.
Analytics & Reporting
- Support reporting and monitoring activities related to supplier performance, development progress, and production launch efficiency.
- Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of development reports, timing follow-ups, and KPI tracking tools.
- Assist in monitoring safety stock strategies and inventory optimization initiatives.
THE CANDIDATE
- Academic background, ideally with specific regards to the shoe product.
- Previous experience (approximately 1–2 years) in Product Development support, leather goods/components purchasing, or supply chain coordination, ideally within the footwear industry.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Proven proficiency in PLM and ERP systems, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
