Established in 2015 in Biella - a hub of textile excellence for Made in Italy - Mariaflora has developed a collection with an international appeal over the years, offering outdoor and performance fabrics defined by understated elegance and timeless style. As a supplier to some of the world’s leading furniture brands and with a strong presence in the luxury yachting sector, the brand produces solution-dyed acrylic fabrics for outdoor use, manufactured locally through a carefully controlled, vertically integrated supply chain—from fiber to finished fabric.

PURPOSE:
Directly reporting to the Creative Director, the Product Development Specialist is in charge of ensuring and managing the development and realization of textile & wallcoverings collection in line with specifications received, defined strategies and planned timelines.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
More specifically, the main job duties are:
- Research of materials and suppliers (yarn or new weaving techniques).
- Know processes and techniques of weaving (jacquard and dobby etc.), printing (digital, flat-bed screen printing, rotary etc.) and identify the most suitable for the realization of the product.
- Follow the development of the product and its industrialization up to the definitive prototype in agreement with and following the guidelines of creative direction.
- Collaborates and discuss with the Creative Director for the expressive, stylistic and technical refinement of the product.
- Make graphic and chromatic proposals coherently with the artistic guidelines and with the techniques used.
- Guarantee the functional conformity of the product in collaboration with the product and quality offices.
- Transfer the qualitative evaluation criteria of the product to the quality department.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Superior textile studies;
- Knowledge and mastery of weaving and printing techniques.
- Work experience in a similar role. Previous experience as product specialist on finished products (pillows, plaid, carpets) is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with spinning, weaving and finishing factories in the design phase, also through repeated visits.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
- Knowledge of Adobe suite and textile CAD.
- Researcher, explorer, curious.

- Autonomous and collaborative in carrying out projects.
- Knows how to speak on an artistic, technical and qualitative level.
- Taste, sense of beauty and sensitivity to details.
- Listens to the technical needs but is rigorous in pursuing the expressive purposes of the product.
