Product Manager Roll Grinding Workshops

SMS group is looking for a Product Manager Roll Grinding Workshops

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for leading and executing the entire integrative product management (Strategic, Technical, Operational) for Roll Grinding Workshops with the goal of global standardization and continuous improvement as an entrepreneur within the company.

• Primary contact for new plant business as well as automation, digital, and service in terms of integrative product management.

• Development and standardization of innovative product and business models including communication and pricing strategy, with the objective of offering customers integrated solutions for performance improvement – from design and procurement, through setup, ramp-up, and ultimately long-term operational management.

• Proactive preparation, execution, and follow-up of integrated product workshops (including stakeholders from operations, automation, digitalization, new plant business) for standardization and continuous improvement.

• Support of the sales and execution organization in ongoing projects as well as in ongoing operations worldwide.

• Conducting market analyses and identifying new business opportunities.

• Monitoring performance indicators (sales, execution, and operational management) across all workshop locations worldwide in cooperation with the relevant department, and if necessary, adjusting the strategic, technical, and operational product management within the framework of the continuous improvement process.

• Creation of business plans and strategy documents for decision-making at the management level.

Qualifications:

• Successfully completed degree in the field of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering (with focuses such as: Strategy, Production/Manufacturing Planning), or economics/business administration with a very strong technical/operational background (e.g., workshop operations) in the metal industry.

• Extensive experience in the planning and/or execution of hot/cold rolling mills, particularly with a focus on roll workshops.

• Extensive experience with respect to the rolling process, roll technology, and roll refurbishment process including roller bearings – at least 5 years.

• Active experience and knowledge in the operation of a roll workshop; knowledge of possible logistics solutions would be an advantage.

• Professional experience in a leading position.

• Experience in the creation and implementation of business models.

• Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking combined with technical expertise. • Highly developed communication skills and the ability to present complex issues.

• Experience in Lean Management is definitely a plus.

• Fluent in English.

• Knowledge of ERP/IT systems and business applications.

• Willingness to travel frequently
