Product Strategy Head, Actuarial & Treasury

Tech Product Owner role is responsible for overseeing technology solution design, delivery of tech products to enable the realization of business outcomes, as well as the smooth transition into BAU and Technology Run & Maintain teams. The role will also lead the Technology solution architecture design of the FFP Actuarial Workstream, covering the implementation of the new Pathwise platform as well as the delivery of the fully integrated data platforms supporting the actuaries.
The individual will collaborate with the Group Head actuary, FFP program team and the group treasury function, other DPS finance product teams and LBU technology teams to help build and drive the strategies across the Actuary and Treasury Finance functions.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for solution design recommendations and ensuring alignment to global tech standards and roadmap.
• Justify recommendations in terms of business benefits and technology roadmap outcomes.
• Provide timely and concise updates to the Head of DPS Enterprise Functions and various Program Steering and governance committees.
• Lead and motivate diverse teams of technical specialists.
• Understand and analyze business requirements and translate them into tech solution design ideas.
• Oversee Technology Architecture Design (Application, integration, infrastructure) across all platforms supporting the actuarial and treasury domains.
• Facilitate collaboration between business (Finance/Actuarial/Treasury) and technology stakeholders effectively in the co-creation of tech solution design ideas.
• Coordinate with tech delivery leads in the planning, execution of tech product delivery, and transition to Run team post go-live.
• Build effective relationships with other DPS domains, Infrastructure teams, and Data Office.
• Effectively manage diverse teams, comprising of internal and external resources.

Qualifications

• Experience Level: Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience and proven track record within Insurance sectors.
• Education Level: Bachelor’s degree (2:1 honor or higher) or equivalent level.
• Personal Attributes: Strong analytical skills, leadership, communication, and problem‑solving ability.
• Mandatory skills:
  • Strong knowledge of the Actuarial and Treasury business functions as they relate to the Insurance industry.
  • Data architecture and modern data management platforms.
  • Cloud architecture design.
  • Technology delivery project management experience.
  • Team leadership and management qualities.
  • Effective communication skills – written, verbal and presentation to senior stakeholders and large audiences.
  • Awareness of Actuarial modelling and results production processes.
• Preferred skills:
  • Actuarial qualifications (past or current).
  • Project Management qualification.
  • Relevant software programming language skills.
