Production and Configuration Engineer – Aerospace Engines – Milano (On-Site)
Our client is an international aerospace manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Production and Configuration Engineer to support the industrialisation, documentation, configuration control, and manufacturing readiness of its engine products
. This is not a pure design role and not a production supervision role. It is a practical engineering role for someone who can translate real products, assemblies, drawings, manufacturing knowledge, and shop-floor experience into controlled technical documentatio
n. The company is entering a major growth and factory relocation phase, and this role will be important in building the technical foundation required for the next stage: structured BOMs, reliable drawings, controlled configurations, work instructions, technical specifications, engine manuals, and production documentati
on. Job Responsibili tiesCreate, update, and maintain 3D models, mechanical assemblies, production drawings, and assembly drawi ngs.Support Engineering and Quality in creating and updating ATPs, inspection criteria, acceptance documents, and production test documentat ion.Prepare and maintain structured BOMs for engines, assemblies, and mechanical syst ems.Define functional tolerances for CNC-machined parts and mechanical assembl ies.Prepare work instructions, assembly instructions, technical specifications, and production documentat ion.Write and update engine manuals and technical literature based on input from Engineering, Production, and Qual ity.Support and maintain configuration control by updating drawings, BOMs, documents, and revision reco rds.Support ECO/ECN activities by documenting configuration changes and ensuring alignment between Engineering, Production, and Qual ity.Identify and close gaps between the actual production process and released technical documentat ion.Capture and formalise practical production knowledge from experienced technicians into controlled technical documentat ion.Develop and maintain document templates, naming conventions, revision practices, and standard document structu res.Work with technicians on the shop floor to understand real assembly, machining, and production constrai nts.Support the improvement of existing products in terms of manufacturability, repeatability, and documentation cont
rol. Require ments MUST: Minimum 3 years of proven experience in production engineering, manufacturing engineering, technical documentation, mechanical assemblies, or configuration manage ment. MUST: Strong CAD capability — ability to create and update 3D models, assemblies, drawings, exploded views, tolerances, and technical documenta tion. MUST: Ability to build and maintain BOMs in alignment with drawings, assemblies, and production rea lity. MUST: Fluent Italian and conversational Eng lish.Advan tage: Good understanding of CNC machining, mechanical assemblies, industrial machines, motors, or complex mechanical prod ucts.Advan tage: Experience with ERP, PDM, or PLM systems (e.g. Teamcenter, Windchill, Eno via).Advan tage: Experience in aerospace, foundry, casting, small-series production, or high-mix manufactu ring.Educa tion: Degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar technical f
