We are currently recruiting on behalf of a pioneering fragrance company based in Milan, Italy. This organisation is seeking a skilled and strategic Production Director to lead and optimise operations across its laboratory and manufacturing environments. This is an exciting opportunity to shape production processes and support scalable growth.

About the role:

As Production Director, you will report directly to the CEO and General Manager. You will oversee the entire production ecosystem, from lab development to factory output, focusing on aligning operations, enhancing productivity, and designing systems that scale. You will partner with internal stakeholders to streamline workflows and ensure high standards in both quality and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of both the laboratory and manufacturing units, ensuring seamless coordination and a balanced workflow.
  • Redesign production procedures for consistency, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Implement scalable strategies to support growth from small-batch to larger industrial production without compromising craftsmanship.
  • Collaborate with the Production & Process Manager and other key staff to align timelines and optimise throughput.
  • Cultivate a continuous improvement culture, fostering innovation and operational enhancements.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to relevant compliance standards and safety regulations.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on production-related decisions.
  • Manage budgets for production, laboratory, and R&D, ensuring prudent allocation of resources.

Requirements:

  • Educational background in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in production leadership, ideally spanning both lab and manufacturing settings.
  • Seasoned experience in beauty or personal care manufacturing
  • Track record of optimising operations and designing scalable processes.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and an aptitude for fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Fluent in both English and Italian (spoken and written); Spanish language skills are an advantage.
  • Practical problem solver with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
