Purpose and main priorities of the role The Production Manager for Coating is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and high‑quality execution of production activities within the department. The role ensures alignment with production plans, guarantees compliance with quality and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement across processes, people, and performance indicators. The position reports to the Plant Director and manages the production workforce within the assigned area.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate production activities in alignment with the production plan, managing deviations in collaboration with Planning.
Work closely with the Plant Director to identify and implement operational improvements and corrective actions.
Collaborate continuously with Technical Management, Planning, and Maintenance functions to ensure product quality and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Manage the human resources assigned to production, focusing on motivation, engagement, and professional development.
Support approval processes for production‑related purchase requests in line with operational needs.
Request and support supervision of maintenance interventions to ensure full efficiency of production assets.
Coordinate production teams, shift schedules, and cutting/programming activities.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures across all production activities.
Guarantee adherence to quality standards and support continuous training initiatives in collaboration with the Quality Department.
Actively participate in risk assessment activities related to health and safety in cooperation with HSE functions, focusing on equipment, machinery, and operational areas under your responsibility.
Ensure full compliance with efficiency, quality, and delivery targets.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (Safety, Efficiency, Quality).
Drive motivation, engagement, and professional growth of the production team.
Contribute to the prevention and continuous improvement of health and safety conditions in the workplace.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or economics (considered a plus).
Proven experience in production or manufacturing environments, ideally in industrial sectors.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams.
Solid understanding of production planning, maintenance coordination, and industrial processes.
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of responsibility, proactivity, and results orientation.
Strong attention to safety, quality, and operational discipline.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
Good knowledge of IT tools and production systems.
Result‑oriented mindset, pragmatism, and a customer‑centric approach.
Italian (proficient), English (good knowledge).
