Hiring: Production Manager – Table Grapes
Puglia, Italy
We are looking for a Production Manager – Table Grapes to lead and optimize our agricultural operations in Puglia, one of Europe’s key regions for premium table grape production. This role will play a critical part in ensuring quality, productivity, and alignment with commercial goals.
Role Purpose
Plan, lead, and control table grape production, ensuring compliance with quality standards, production targets, efficiency, and commercial requirements through the comprehensive management of orchards, production processes, and grower relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee all key production stages: pruning, bud break, thinning, harvesting, and post-harvest.
- Build and manage strong relationships with growers, ensuring compliance with technical standards and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Prepare production forecasts (volume, size, quality) to support commercial and logistics planning.
- Monitor field and packing operations through regular technical visits and controls.
- Identify deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate closely with commercial, logistics, and packing teams to execute export programs.
- Optimize the use of resources (labor, inputs, technology), ensuring cost efficiency.
- Evaluate new agronomic practices and technologies to improve competitiveness.
- Lead and develop the production team, ensuring high performance, safety, and quality standards.
Profile & Requirements
- Degree in Agronomy Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in fresh fruit production.
- Strong experience in table grape production (highly desirable).
- Solid background in field management and grower relations .
- Knowledge of: Advanced table grape agronomy, Harvest and post-harvest processes, Quality control and food safety
- Advanced Excel skills
- Intermediate English
