We are seeking a highly qualified candidate with at least 2 years of experience in Project Cost Controlling , ideally coming from EPC companies working in the Oil & Gas sector.
Purpose / Role
- Ensure effective performance and activities related to cost control, risk and change management, and reporting, while adhering to expectations for HSSE performance, quality, values, ethics, revenue, and margin.
- Support the Project Control Coordinator and Project Manager in analyzing project cost status and identifying corrective actions.
- Continuously monitor project costs associated with design, materials, construction, and commissioning, identifying trends that necessitate cost control actions, and keeping the Project Control Coordinator/Project Manager informed of any changes to ensure compliance with the established budget.
Key Objectives
- Assist the Project Control Coordinator/Project Manager in delivering Project Cost Execution Plans and achieving performance targets.
- Support the Project Control Coordinator/Project Manager in ensuring that all projects meet mandatory execution expectations.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborate with the Project Control Coordinator during transfer meetings to define the Project Execution Plan, ensuring its application throughout the entire project lifecycle to meet established targets.
- Manage project cost control by collecting relevant data from company systems and issuing project status reports, including financial data, costs, and estimates to complete, under the supervision/approval of the Project Control Coordinator/Project Manager.
- Monitor project cost control status, cash flow, revenue, profit, gross margin, potential risks, opportunities, and contingencies, as well as overall economic and financial health, under the supervision/approval of the Project Control Coordinator/Project Manager.
- Collect data necessary for preparing and issuing invoices.
- Integrate lessons learned from past similar projects into continuous improvement processes.
- Prepare for and ensure timely and effective monthly project reviews.
- Conduct methodological and operational analysis of project economic risks (Cost Risk Analysis), opportunities, and contingencies.
- Support the Controlling and Financial departments in executing their activities.
- Assess subcontractor resources related to planned progress and suggest adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with Construction Management to verify that work is fully completed for acceptance and final payment.
- Monitor and forecast site costs, highlighting problem areas, recommending remedial actions, and tracking the implementation of agreed-upon solutions.
- Prepare short-term expenditure forecasts on a monthly basis and lead updates in routine progress meetings.
- Maintain ongoing oversight of project costs for all aspects of site/construction activities.
- Control scope changes, design modifications, and variances arising from construction to minimize impacts on the project cost budget, recommending remedial actions and preparing changes for the client.
- Engage with company departments, client representatives, and vendors on relevant topics.
- Assist in analyzing claims received from subcontractors and in preparing claims directed toward the client.
