We are looking for talented people to help on challenging supply‑chain problems, collaborating across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security with infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

Scope of the role

In this role, you will own the project management, delivery, and operationalisation of energy projects that enable and optimise AWS access to grid connection capacity across the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and interface with project origination, ensuring subsequent delivery and operationalisation of commercial and technical aspects for successful implementation.
  • Lead project management and delivery of generation and energy storage projects from procurement, contracting, engineering, and optimisation perspectives, collaborating with internal partner teams, supply chain and delivery partners.
  • Identify key risks, work with partner teams and delivery partners to mitigate and develop solutions for on‑time delivery.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects, balancing complexity, ambiguity, varying timescales and multiple relationships, prioritising conflicting priorities.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget, overseeing financial costs, budget control, contractor performance, cost tracking, and variation management.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including partner teams, contractors, regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with planning requirements, health and safety standards, environmental permits and lender obligations.
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate project timelines and mitigate risks, preventing delays that could impact data centre scaling.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration and resolve complex challenges through partner team engagement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience managing multiple projects, prioritising, planning, and managing time.
  • High‑level negotiation experience and successful internal and external relationship management.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on tasks.
  • Relevant engineering degree with 10+ years of experience in utility/energy generation/grid infrastructure and background in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering for large industrial plants, with a proven track record of delivering grid infrastructure, renewable power generation, and energy storage projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Problem‑solving experience with technology in the Energy & Utilities industries.
  • Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large‑scale technology projects for global customers.
  • Experience in data centres, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies.
  • Master's degree or above in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent, or experience on multi‑team cross‑disciplinary projects.

Location and Travel

The position can be based in Dublin, London, or Madrid. Regular travel (10–20%) throughout EMEA is required.
