Subsea Trees Mechanical Engineer
Lead Engineer, Mechanical, Product Design and Engineering in Baker Hughes Subsea Engineering division. This role focuses on the design, development, and delivery of subsea tree components and associated tooling for offshore energy projects. You will manage the full engineering lifecycle from concept to manufacturing and installation, ensuring that products meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and quality while operating within industry and company standards.
Responsibilities
Participate in the full design cycle of subsea tree components and tooling—from concept through detailed drawings and BOM management.
Apply and interpret key industry standards (ISO, API, ASME, NACE, DNVGL, NORSOK, EUROCODE) during development.
Review engineering and customer specifications to define product requirements.
Develop 3‑D CAD models using CREO/IPEM and generate detailed fabrication and machining drawings.
Create and maintain Bills of Materials and ensure documentation is managed within Teamcenter.
Collaborate with Analysis, Materials, and Manufacturing teams to validate designs and ensure fitness for purpose.
Prepare documentation for design reviews, including layouts, technical presentations, and manufacturing/safety evaluations.
Support product and project documentation (eFAT/FAT/SIT procedures, user manuals, assembly and mobilization procedures, service manuals).
Contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned and Design for Manufacturing/Sourcing initiatives.
Ensure all engineering activities meet quality, safety, and environmental standards and follow internal processes.
Complete assigned tasks according to performance metrics (OTD, quality, yield).
Provide support to peers, engineers, and managers as needed.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in GD&T, drafting practices, and manufacturing technologies.
Extensive experience with parametric CAD (CREO) and IPEM/TeamCenter databases.
In-depth knowledge of subsea industry standards (ISO, API, ASME, NACE, DNV, NORSOK, EUROCODE).
Ability to work independently in a global multicultural environment.
Robust analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Team player attitude with strong communication skills.
Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Proactive and able to take initiative to resolve issues.
