We are looking for a Project Surveyor to join our team in Viareggio, Italy .

Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Project Surveyor to support our New Build and Refit Project Management division. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Project Surveyor plays a key role in overseeing the construction and refit of superyachts, with a focus on inspecting and assessing build quality, compliance, and workmanship throughout all project stages.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular on-site inspections of new build and refit projects to verify construction quality, materials, and technical compliance.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Identify deviations or deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Liaise with shipyard personnel, subcontractors, and classification society representatives on technical and quality matters.
  • Document inspections and produce detailed technical reports for the Project Manager.
  • Support quality assurance processes and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of construction.
  • Monitor and verify progress in line with project milestones and technical expectations.
  • Attend factory acceptance tests, sea trials, and commissioning activities as required.

Skills/Requirements

  • Solid experience as a marine surveyor, construction inspector, or quality control engineer in the superyacht or shipbuilding industry.
  • Technical degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of shipyard processes, classification requirements, and marine construction standards.
  • Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Comfortable working on-site and traveling internationally.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work under the direction of the Project Manager.
