The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Protestant Director of Religious Education (PDRE) for the Naval Support Activity in Naples, Italy. This part-time role (maximum 12 hours per week) offers the chance to contribute to a fulfilling mission, working alongside a dedicated religious team to serve service members and their families.

This is a part-time, 1099 contract position.

Position contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and deliver a Protestant Religious Education program for all age groups, from Pre-K to adults.
- Coordinate with the Command Chaplain and senior Protestant Chaplain to ensure the effective delivery of the program.
- Manage the Children's Church program during worship services.
- Maintain and organize classroom supplies, ensuring that all necessary resources are available.
- Develop and manage annual budgets for the Religious Education program.
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for all educational programs.
- Lead and organize outreach events for the military and civilian communities.
- Coordinate and lead Vacation Bible School, managing logistics and volunteer participation.
- Ensure all volunteers undergo criminal background checks and training.
- Communicate regularly with parents about events, schedules, and expectations.
The Person
We are looking for someone with:
- At least four years of documented experience leading Protestant religious programs.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- A strong understanding of military customs and traditions.
- The ability to work independently, with good moral character and interpersonal skills.
