Public Policy & Government Affairs manager, eCommerce - Southern Europe

We are seeking a dynamic eCommerce Public Policy professional to join our Government Relations and Public Policy team in Southern Europe. This person will play a crucial role in advancing TikTok's mission by navigating complex regulatory landscapes in the areas of eCommerce and consumer policy. The position requires expertise in relevant policy/legislative areas and public affairs experience in Southern Europe, particularly Italy and Spain.

Responsibilities

• Stay abreast of emerging policy trends and legislative developments in the eCommerce policy space.
• Provide insights and advice to internal stakeholders on the potential implications for TikTok’s business and operations.
• Lead on the development of public policy positions and advocacy campaigns in Southern Europe, aligned with the business strategy.
• Build world class relationships with relevant stakeholders, including policy makers, legislators, and business associations, to help achieve public policy goals in the areas of e-commerce and consumer policy.
• Manage relationships with agencies and relevant trade associations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Substantial experience working in public policy and advocacy work in the region, and a strong understanding of what makes effective government relations and public policy strategies successful.
• Deep understanding of legislative, public policy and regulatory issues affecting e-commerce, online marketplaces, and consumer policy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in English (working language of the company) and either Spanish and/or Italian for engaging with market contacts.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong research, analysis, and project management abilities.
• Motivation to learn and grow, as well as motivate and inspire others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong relationships and professional networks across southern Europe for the policy areas in focus.
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience working in a tech environment (company or other organization).
• Experience working independently and a passion for tracking big challenges.
