As Corinthia Rome prepares for its grand opening, we are looking for an organized, proactive, and highly motivated Purchasing Manager to take the lead in all purchasing and delivery operations for the hotel. From day one, you will be the focal point for all procurement activities, ensuring that the hotel has the right products and services at the right time. Your meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage the logistics of multiple stakeholders will be crucial in setting up the hotel for success.
What You’ll Do:
As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible to:
- Coordinate all purchases and deliveries for the hotel’s operation, from daily supplies to major equipment, ensuring everything is in place for the hotel’s smooth launch and ongoing operations.
- Taking a hands-on, proactive approach to procurement, you’ll anticipate needs, negotiate prices, and source high-quality goods while managing costs and controlling waste.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and external vendors, ensuring the best quality and value. You’ll manage orders, oversee tender processes, and liaise with suppliers to meet the hotel's standards.
- Serve as the central point of communication between departments to ensure smooth purchasing operations and that all teams’ needs are met promptly.
- Ensure accurate administration of all invoices and adherence to proper bookkeeping procedures and support annual quality audits
- Oversee inventory control, performing regular stocktakes, and ensuring that all materials are correctly recorded in the system. You’ll ensure all storage areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
- Handle challenges as they arise, providing solutions to any purchasing issues, delivery delays, or discrepancies. Your ability to stay flexible and organized will be crucial as business demands fluctuate.
- Follow and enforce approved purchasing policies and procedures, ensuring consistency with Corinthia’s high standards and the hotel’s operational needs.
- Play a key role in developing and training the purchasing team, ensuring everyone is equipped with the knowledge and tools to perform efficiently.
- What We’re Looking For:
- You should have three years of experience in Purchasing and/or Cost Control, ideally in the luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment
- A highly organized individual with strong attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities at once.
- You take the initiative to anticipate needs, resolve issues, and improve processes continuously.
- Able to build and maintain relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers, with fluency in both English and Italian.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with purchasing systems such as Adaco is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and a knack for finding efficient solutions to problems as they arise.
- Prepared to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and rotating stock, and flexibility with work hours as needed.
