About the Role

For one of our manufacturing plant in Italy, we are looking for a Purchasing Manager who will lead the Purchasing Department and contribute strategically to the plant’s operational efficiency and competitiveness.

Job Purpose

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services required for plant operations, achieving the best balance between cost, quality, and service, in full compliance with the local Purchasing Procedure and Group guidelines.

The role also includes managing the Purchasing Office and providing close support to the Mill Manager through analysis and reporting activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of purchasing, including task allocation, performance monitoring, and continuous development
  • Draft, maintain, and ensure compliance with the local Purchasing Procedure
  • Monitor plant requirements and plan purchasing activities accordingly
  • Manage supplier relationships and carry out supplier scouting
  • Request, evaluate, and negotiate quotes and commercial terms
  • Approve purchase orders in line with the defined authorization strategy
  • Analyze supplier performance and identify cost reduction and savings opportunities
  • Ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive data
  • Prepare internal and Group reporting in accordance with official deadlines
  • Periodically analyze key company KPI’s


Main Activities

  • Manage tenders and negotiations with suppliers
  • Supervise supplier contracts
  • Handle and resolve commercial issues with suppliers
  • Perform internal control activities
  • Coordinate with other company departments and Central Sourcing
  • Perform cost analysis and monitoring


Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics or related fields is preferred
  • Experience in team management


  • Experience in similar roles within structured organizations (industrial background preferred)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Accuracy, flexibility, results-oriented mindset, and problem-solving attitude
  • Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Fluent English (minimum level B2)
  • SAP knowledge is considered a plus
