QA/QC Manager

Overview

Energy Jobline is supporting a major international energy infrastructure programme and is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead quality assurance and quality control activities across a large-scale energy project.

The role will focus on ensuring that all engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and operational activities comply with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and international quality frameworks.

The Role

Reporting to the Project General Manager, the QA/QC Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing the project Quality Management System (QMS) across both onshore and offshore project activities.

The position will oversee inspection, testing, documentation control, and quality compliance across multiple contractors and project phases, ensuring a consistent and effective quality approach throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan and Quality Management System in line with international standards such as ISO 9001, API, and ASME
• Ensure quality procedures are applied throughout engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning activities
• Coordinate internal and external quality audits, including certification and surveillance audits
• Review and approve contractor and vendor quality documentation including Inspection & Test Plans, welding procedures, NDT procedures, and FAT/SAT plans
• Establish and manage systems for tracking non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective or preventive actions
• Oversee inspection and testing activities across structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and coating scopes
• Coordinate third-party inspections, vendor surveillance, and site QA/QC teams across fabrication yards, offshore facilities, and equipment suppliers
• Ensure calibration and certification of inspection tools and testing equipment
• Provide QA/QC oversight during offshore installation, load-out, hook-up, commissioning, and start-up phases
• Manage quality documentation and ensure traceability of records within project quality dossiers and manufacturing record books
• Lead and mentor QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and coordinators across multiple project locations
• Liaise with client representatives, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with project requirements

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience managing quality systems for large-scale energy or infrastructure projects
• In-depth knowledge of international quality standards and inspection frameworks
• Experience managing QA/QC across engineering, fabrication, offshore installation, and commissioning phases
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent stakeholder communication and client interface skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills within complex project environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in QA/QC or quality management within oil & gas or industrial projects
• Experience supporting both onshore fabrication and offshore installation projects
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

Additional Information

The advertised day rate applies to independent consultants operating on a contract basis. Candidates who prefer to be engaged as employees of the client may be offered a different remuneration structure.
