Job Title: Drilling & Wells QA/QC Engineer
Location: Guardia Perticara, Basilicata, Italy
Contract Type: Residential Contract
Contract Duration: Annually Renewable
Start Date: July 2026
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 Hours per Day (up to 10 Hours as per Contract)

Overview We are seeking an experienced Drilling & Wells QA/QC Engineer to support drilling and wells operations by establishing and maintaining a robust QA/QC management system aimed at eliminating Non-Productive Time (NPT). The successful candidate will provide QA/QC support to Drilling & Wells service contracts and ensure compliance with company standards, quality requirements, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Support service companies operating at the Drilling Support Base in establishing and maintaining a robust QA/QC management system.
Ensure purchasing of equipment complies with company requirements.
Review Purchase Orders (PO) and Service Orders (SO) to confirm compliance with QA/QC management systems.
Ensure technical and quality inspections are completed upon receipt of goods from vendors.
Perform quality audits of vendors and drilling contractors to assess compliance with contractual requirements.
Define technical specifications for the appropriate storage of Drilling & Wells equipment.
Implement, enforce, and maintain Service Quality Plans (SQP) in accordance with API Q2 or equivalent standards and service criticality.
Promote and manage API Q2 audit programmes, including scheduling and audit objectives.
Coordinate service inspections at contractor facilities, including witnessed and ad hoc inspections.
Establish equipment release processes prior to rig mobilisation, including final release documentation and waiver processes.
Implement, maintain, and update inspection reporting systems for proprietary equipment.
Ensure Non-Productive Time (NPT) events are recorded, classified, tracked, and converted into corrective action records where applicable.
Maintain action tracking databases and monitor close-out of quality actions.
Support equipment and service failure investigations, including troubleshooting and cause tree analysis.
Conduct monthly quality reviews with service contractors to monitor continuous improvement actions.
Ensure contracted services are evaluated through Service Scorecards and Service Quality Management processes.
Track continuous improvement initiatives across Drilling & Wells activities.
Provide QA/QC, standards, and corrective action support to operational teams.
Participate in Service Quality Management performance reviews.
Interface with corporate QA/QC teams regarding manufacturing standards and delivery issues.
Prepare and submit monthly QA/QC reports.
Support audits of rig management systems, including preventive maintenance systems, and monitor corrective action progress.
Requirements Technical Requirements
Minimum 15 years of experience within the oil and gas industry.
Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience, including at least 8 years supporting drilling activities.
Experience with OCTG, equipment procurement, and service contract QA/QC.
Good knowledge of drilling equipment, completion operations, and well intervention services.
Strong understanding of drilling and wells operations on drilling rigs.
Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001 and/or API Q1.
Practitioner certification in API Q2.
Mandatory QA/QC certification relevant to drilling and operations.
Fluent English.
Fluent Italian.
