Overview
ABB distributes solutions to help industries run leaner and cleaner. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager.
Responsibilities
- Support the deployment of the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams to achieve and exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations.
- Assist the organization in achieving the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems.
- Collaborate with local functions that impact quality results to reach targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance.
- Process & Product Quality: using quality data analytics from the organization to identify risks, failures, and non-conformances; improve tools and systems for recording and analyzing data.
- Develop new metrics and statistical tools to monitor KPIs, enabling better decision-making and continuous improvement (dashboard).
- Manage EQPS Project (Engagement Quality Problem Solving) and engage the local organization to improve processes and products.
- Customer Support: support the local team in managing and resolving customer complaints, ensuring timely and effective responses aligned with quality standards and customer expectations.
- Collect and arrange delivery of new materials and spare parts directly on the field; organize on-site service activities to fix issues with the customer; monitor warranty costs.
- Facilitate resolution of customer cases by following robust root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing preventive and corrective actions according to DMAIC methodology.
- Propose improvements of tools/equipment and process methodologies based on experience and technology development.
Qualifications For The Role
- At least 2 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, R&D, working as an Engineer with experience in quality, production, and development of project customer-related work.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical topics, electrical diagrams and testing equipment.
- Knowledge of MW 10, Office and Outlook and Power BI.
- Collaborative, solution-focused approach with strong written and spoken communication skills.
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics is preferable; secondary school education will be considered.
- Comfortable communicating in Italian with good command of English (B1 level).
- Valid category B driving license for use in Italy.
